Success is rarely a straight path. For some, it’s a series of strategic moves; for others, it’s about navigating unexpected turns with resilience and purpose. For me, the latter has been true.
When I enrolled in Harvard Business School Online’s CORe program in October 2024, I couldn’t have predicted the twists that awaited. Life tested my resolve in ways I hadn’t imagined. Yet, these challenges also sparked innovation, leading to the creation of MyExpatGo, a platform destined to reshape the global mobility industry.
Today, I’m sharing my story—not just to celebrate the milestones but to offer insights on perseverance, innovation, and the power of a bold vision.
I grew up in the picturesque yet rural Viljandimaa, Estonia. Technology opened windows to a world beyond my immediate reach, sparking my curiosity about global connections. At just 16, I took a leap of faith and moved to Ireland. Armed with determination and curiosity, this relocation became the foundation of my understanding of international transitions.
This wasn’t just about changing addresses; it was about experiencing cultural nuances, logistical challenges, and the emotional impact of starting anew in a foreign land. This experience sparked a lifelong fascination with global mobility.
Over the following years, I gained deep expertise in global mobility while working in Ireland, the UK, and Canada. From orchestrating executive relocations to managing official embassy moves, I saw first-hand the complexities of international transitions. Each experience was a puzzle piece, shaping a multidimensional understanding of logistics, strategy, and the human side of moving.
Fast-forward to October 2024. Embodying my commitment to growth, I began the Harvard CORe program. It felt like the perfect time to expand my knowledge while continuing to work full-time and quietly sketch out initial ideas for MyExpatGo.
Then, life threw a curveball. By November, I received notice of redundancy—with just three months before my employment officially ended. Suddenly, I was balancing three colossal challenges:
Each of these alone demanded relentless focus. Together? They felt insurmountable.

There were nights I sat down to study economic frameworks at 1 AM after grueling days of client demands and redundancy planning. My exam scores mirrored this reality—not perfect, but hard-earned. Business Analytics (78%), Economics for Managers (73%), and Financial Accounting (82%) represented more than proficiency; they symbolized perseverance.
Through these late nights, one vision kept me going—that of a platform to simplify relocation for individuals navigating moves without corporate support.
While assisting corporate relocations, I noticed a glaring gap in the industry. There’s plenty of support when companies arrange your move, but individuals relocating on their own? They’re left to battle confusing regulations, visa requirements, and logistical details alone.
I knew this underserved demographic deserved better. The idea for MyExpatGo had been gestating since 2011 when I first imagined using technology to simplify relocation. Over the years, I saw others in the field pivot away to focus on corporate clients, leaving individuals unsupported.
By 2024, it became clear that if no one else disrupted the space, I had both the experience and vision to do it myself.
Despite the chaos surrounding me, the Harvard CORe program was pivotal. The coursework didn’t just feel informative; it felt actionable. Each concept tied directly to refining MyExpatGo’s foundations:
Harvard sharpened my ability to not just envision but execute. Every late-night study fueled decisions shaping MyExpatGo’s launch.
With the lessons from Harvard and 14 years of global mobility experience, MyExpatGo began to take form. Our platform combines technology with personalized service to transform the relocation experience. Here’s what sets us apart:
From Estonia’s digital innovations to Malaysia’s drive for growth, MyExpatGo is the culmination of my international experiences and career expertise.
Looking back, two key lessons stand out. First, setbacks often disguise themselves as opportunities. Redundancy pushed me out of my comfort zone, propelling me to launch MyExpatGo sooner than planned.
Second, education isn’t just about academic achievement. The skills I gained at Harvard became foundational tools for real-world application. They turned theoretical knowledge into actionable strategies for building a business.
To anyone navigating uncertainty while chasing an ambitious vision, know this: growth often comes at the intersection of discomfort and opportunity. Keep pushing forward because, often, the most challenging periods pave the way for innovation.
2025 is a pivotal year—not just for me but for MyExpatGo and the relocation industry as a whole. Our platform aims to empower individuals navigating international moves, offering them the tools and support they need to thrive.
This is more than a business launch; it’s the start of a movement. A movement that simplifies the complexities of global mobility and transforms lives along the way.
