1. Overview
MyExpatGo Sdn Bhd (short name on this site: “MyExpatGo”) operates the website www.myexpatgo.com. We provide international move planning content, a lead-generation service that connects you with moving companies and other vetted partners, and paid relocation support services (consulting and planning sessions). We do not run our own moving trucks or storage facilities.
Our main audience includes people in the EU, the UK, and the USA. This policy is written to meet GDPR-style transparency requirements — clear purposes, a lawful basis for each, and your rights — while remaining easy to read and internationally applicable. We only collect information that is reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, and we never sell your personal data.
Plain-English summary: you give us details so we can help plan your move and connect you with trusted movers. We use those details for that purpose, keep them only as long as needed, and let you request changes or deletion at any time.

Contact & quote request data

AI Virtual Home Estimate data
- Answers you give in the widget: home type, room count, furnishing level, number of boxes, and large items.
- The resulting estimated move size (a volume figure and a small / medium / large classification) that we attach to your quote request.
The widget produces an estimate only. Please do not enter sensitive personal information into it.
Technical & usage data
- IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and time on page.
- Analytics collected via cookies or similar technologies (for example, Google Analytics or a comparable tool).
Communication data
- Emails or messages you send us, and
- Records of those communications so we can respond and keep context.
Sensitive data — we don't want it. We do not intentionally collect sensitive categories of data — such as health, religion, or payment card numbers — through our forms or AI tools. Please do not submit sensitive information in free-text fields. Payments for paid services are handled by a regulated payment provider; we never see or store your full card details.
3. AI and the Virtual Home Estimate
The AI Virtual Home Estimate is an optional widget that asks about your home type, room count, furnishing level, number of boxes, and large items. Your answers are processed to produce an estimated move size (a volume figure and a small / medium / large classification).
- The estimate is used to pre-fill or tag your quote request so partner movers can provide more accurate responses.
- We store these estimates together with the related quote request for the same retention period (see Data retention), and may review anonymized inputs for service improvement and basic analytics.
- If we ever use this data to improve our AI models, we will either anonymize it or rely on your explicit consent where the law requires it.
- Do not enter sensitive personal data into the widget — it is designed for move-size estimation only.
4. Purposes and legal basis
We only process your personal data for the purposes described here and rely on a clear lawful basis for each. In short:

We collect only information that is reasonably necessary for these purposes, and we do not sell personal data.

Vetted moving companies & partners
International moving companies and other vetted partners — such as real estate agents, immigration lawyers, or tax professionals — receive your data only when you request an introduction or quote.
Service providers (processors)
Providers that help us run the website and services — hosting, analytics tools, email service, CRM, form platform, and the AI widget provider — act as data processors under contract and only follow our instructions.
Legal authorities
Where we are legally required to do so, for example to respond to lawful requests from authorities.
