Singapore is one of the easiest destinations in the world to live in without a car. The MRT and bus network covers the whole island, taxis and ride-hailing are plentiful, and Changi Airport (SIN) is 20–30 minutes from most residential areas. Car ownership requires a Certificate of Entitlement bid on top of the vehicle price, so most arriving households do not ship or buy a car.
Whether you can drive on your existing licence, for how long, and whether it can be exchanged rather than re-tested depends on the country that issued it and on your residence status in Singapore. Check the national licensing authority before your current entitlement runs out.
